About Us . . .
The origins of the present
company go back to August 2000 when founder and
Principal
Dennis Turner joined a bookkeeping franchise group
which lead to the formation of Bookkeeping Consultants
Pty Ltd.
Initially the company specialised in bookkeeping,
training and consultancy. However it soon became clear
that there was a need for an Australian training
organisation that specialised in Bookkeeping, MYOB and
QuickBooks courses, as well as general business and
Microsoft Office courses.
Bookkeeping Institute of
Australia
The Bookkeeping Institute of Australia
was established in June
2003.
Initially training rooms were hired from a
Registered Training Organisation in Eight Mile Plains as and when
there was a course booking but by the end of 2003 it became clear
that bookings would soon outstrip resources.
As a result in January
2004 the
Bookkeeping Institute of Australia
moved
into it's Mount Gravatt Central premises and has never looked back.
In
December 2004 the
Bookkeeping Institute of Australia
introduced it's Certificate of Bookkeeping program in either MYOB and
QuickBooks. The Certificate program includes a two day examination
which includes Accounting Principals, the posting of three months worth
of transactions into MYOB or QuickBooks , a file export to Microsoft
Excel 2003 and the creation of improved reports.
In early
2005 the
Bookkeeping Institute of Australia
introduced it's Start Your Own Booking Business program which included
the Certificate of Bookkeeping program plus a personalised workshop in
starting your own booking business. To find out more details please

In January 2006
the
Bookkeeping Institute of Australia
commenced offering a number of it's popular training courses my
distance learning, including the unique Start Your Own Booking Business
program.
On February 28, 2007 the
Bookkeeping Institute of Australia
became a
Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
registered under the
Australian Quality Training
Framework (AQTF)
by the Training and Employment Recognition Council of
the Queensland Government (national code 32190).
In July 2007
the
Bookkeeping Institute of Australia
became the first
training institute to develop and deliver the Certificate IV in
Financial Services (Bookkeeping) course.
Since that time
the
Bookkeeping Institute of Australia
has become the largest RTO in Australia focusing on bookkeeping and we
have now had over 160 enrolments on our bookkeeping courses.
